Now that Microsoft has finally released Windows 10 Mobile build 10586, Windows Insiders in Fast ring can download and test it for any issues that might have remained.
However, if you hoped to get any new features in this build, then you will be disappointed to know that there is no such thing.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586 is all about bug fixes and improvements. Microsoft's Gabriel Aul confirmed the information, but the official changelog for this build does the same thing.
So, if you want to know what change build 10586 brings over the previous versions of Windows 10 Mobile continue to read.
First of all, Microsoft confirmed its engineers have fixed an issue that caused the Start experience to become corrupted after upgrading and restoring a backup from a phone that had a different resolution.
SD card issues are fixed
Also, users who install this build will now be able to set their default save locations via Settings / System / Storage and it should correctly reflect the current storage settings. The SD card should no longer show up as a garbled name in Storage settings either.
Another fix delivered in this update should address the process of moving apps to a SD card, which should no longer cause those apps to crash.
Microsoft also announced that it has made lots of improvements to the Messaging + Skype app, both via updates on Windows Store and on the server side.
The changelog also mentions that this build should be seeing less resuming/loading text when switching apps. The physical camera button should work once again if it wasn't working before.
Last but not least, apps and games should download from the Store more reliably with Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.
Keep in mind that this build is now pushed to Windows Insiders in Fast ring, so it might take a while until it reaches Slow ring.
